Latin name (synonym): Neotinea ustulata (Orchis ustulata)
Flowering time: End of April to end of May, late-blooming type beginning of July
Habitat: Semi-arid grasslands and low-nutrient long-grass meadows
The zechstein belt at the Kyffhäuser and the eastern Hainleite have 90% of the occurrences in Thuringia. A variety of the burnt orchid, the later flowering Neotinea ustalata var. aestivalis, has one occurrence in the nature conservation area "Schloßberg-Solwiesen" and one in "Alter Stolberg".
