Habitat: Open mixed deciduous and coniferous forests and dry meadows, long-grass meadows and low-nutrient grasslands
This species has been promoted by the thinning of some forests in the Hainleite. Occurrences have also been reported in the zechstein belt on the Südharz and in mountain meadows in the Harz.
