Habitat: Low-nutrient grasslands, dry calcareous soils
This species is threatened by extinction in Thuringia. Only five known sites for this orchid which depends on sheep grazing are in Thuringia. Two are in the nature conservation area "Ichstedter Lehde" and one in the nature conservation area "Bottendorfer Hügel".
