Yellow Lady's Slipper
Latin name (synonym):
Cypripedium calceolus
Flowering time: Beginning of May to mid-June
Habitat: Pine groves and deciduous forests
The pouch-shaped bloom of the lady's slipper is pollinated by female sand bees. A major site of distribution in Germany is the shell limestone area in Thuringia.
